A view weeks ago I had the opportunity to capture the stunning interior of the Groninger Museum for a commissioned shoot. I’m a big fan of the Groninger Museum which happened to celebrate it’s 20th birthday yesterday. I frequently visit the museum and I’ve taken images of it’s beautiful exterior architecture many times. But it’s not often I get the chance to photograph its interior when the museum is closed to the public.
In 1994 the museum as we know it now with its radically modernist structures was completed. Frans Haks, its director at the time, commissioned great designers and architects like Alessandro Mendini, Michele de Lucchi, Philippe Starck and Coop Himmelbau to design the new museum. Be sure to visit the museum if you have the chance.
All images were taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III + Canon TS-E 17mm F/4 L tilt and shift lens.
