A beautiful evening at the river Reest
One of the great things about my job is that you get to visit some of the most beautiful locations in the Netherlands. Like the small river Reest just south of the city of Meppel. A beautiful little river full of life. As I walk along the river bank searching for the best spot, I can hear all kinds of animals. Birds, mice, insects, frogs, even an occasional fish jumping out of the water. It’s hard to think that just a few hundred meters to the north and you’re in a buzzing city. Nature is at it best this time of year with a beautiful mix of fresh and seasoned colors. Normally summer isn’t the best time for a landscape photographer with long days and crappy light. Certainly not my favorite. But in late summer the great light returns. Coupled with some beautiful skies, hardly and wind and warm temperatures and there’s not much left to wish for.
